IJCAIP Assists Local ALS Society in Writing Contest

Cheryl McLean, Publisher and Executive Editor of The International Journal of The Creative Arts in Interdisciplinary Practice IJCAIP has been invited by the Thames Valley regional manager of ALS Ontario to act as a judge for a local ALS Short Story Fundraiser called "Make it Write".

Charlene Spector of ALS Ontario recently reported in The London Free Press the society is always looking for ways to raise funds because of the expensive equipment ALS sufferers need. She said the number of clients the local chapter supports, currently 62, increased 15% this year over last. Each client needs about $146,000 in equipment. Spector commented on the increasing needs the society faces, "Our equipment loan program covers a percentage of this expense. Unfortunately, with limited funding we cannot purchase every piece of equipment needed during the ALS journey, the contest will increase the profile of the society and therefore reach more people. "

IJCAIP is pleased to help support the local ALS Society in this worthwhile fundraising program supporting persons with ALS.
